The Triple Dawg Dare Story
Triple Dawg Dare is a five-piece cover band located in the
Chicagoland area.

Founded in 2002 by Greg Miller and Tom Mikucki, two talented guitarists
with years of playing experience, Triple Dawg Dare has become one of the
most versatile bands on the local club circuit. After playing together
in working area
bands for over six years, Greg and Tom set off on their
own, with a vision of creating a band that could cover a wide variety of
music ranging from traditional blues to the latest hits. A band that
would not only put on a great show in the local clubs, but would
constantly continue to add new music to an extensive repertoire, and
would model the professionalism expected by talent brokers and club
owners.
Immediately the dynamic duo enlisted the help of Bass Player Dan
McNamara, a classically trained musician who played bass and several
other instruments in Orchestra, jazz and rock band formats from
childhood to adulthood. Dan, having worked with club bands for most of
his early musical career, was intrigued by the complimentary styles,
professionalism and vastly diverse musical knowledge of the two
guitarists and agreed to join the band. Dan’s extensive musical
background and keen ear quickly made him the “stage director” of the
band.
Throughout 2002, the fledgling band worked with various drummers, but
could no t seem to find the right match. In early 2003, through word of
mouth, the band met veteran drummer, Mike Dunkleman. Mike had worked in
the local and regional band scene and was just ending a two-year stint
with a popular working band in the Chicago/Evanston area. Mike’s
aggressive style of play and propensity for showmanship brought a spark
to the band that quickly propelled them to working status. The band had
no problem getting gigs and quickly gained both an audience and a
reputation for being “tight” musically and very professional.
The final piece of the puzzle was put in place in early 2004 when local
vocalist Chris Rogus joined the band to replace the bands original
singer. Chris, who answered an ad in a local trade paper, stunned the
“Dawgs” with his outstanding vocal range and strength. A studio regular
and “open mic” sensation, Chris’s venture onto the Triple Dawg Dare
stage has been nothing but successful. His diverse musical tastes add
yet another dimension to the band and his vocals take the band to a new
musical level.
Today, Triple Dawg Dare is a polished, high energy, working band,
covering songs from both the Ro ck and Blues genres. Triple Dawg Dare
takes its audience from Elvis to The Foo Fighters, with stops at Stevie
Ray Vaughan, The Rolling Stones, Thin Lizzy, Green Day, Nickelback and
much, much more. From Classic Blues to the latest contemporary Rock,
Triple Dawg Dare plays the songs you want to hear!
